What Is ADSL Service And What Can It Do
For Me?
ADSL is
an abbreviation of "Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line" and is a method by which
high bandwitdth broadband digital information can be sent down standard copper telephone
lines. ADSL services is one of the main ways to get broadband as lots of broadband
providers use this method of delivery for their broadband services. Other ways of getting
broadband include cable broadband and satellite broadband which you can read about further
in our "Broadband Explained" section on the left hand menu.
So what can ADSL do for you? Well its
the same as the other broadband services really, one major difference is that you don't
require a cable installed and run into your house or a satellite dish installed outside
your house, plus there are lots more ADSL services to choose from than there are cable
broadband or satellite broadband services.
In our "UK Broadband Services"
section you can read our reviews of the best ADSL services available in the UK together
