What Is Broadband Wireless Access And What
Can It Do For Me?
Broadband
wireless access is where you can connect to the internet via a wireless internet network.
This network can be when you connect your main PC to a broadband router which then
broadcasts your broadband connection around your house and even into your garden without
any need for wires so that you can access the internet on another desktop computer in
another room or on your laptop anywhere around your house or garden. To do this you need a
broadband router to send the internet signal around your house and a wireless LAN card
installed on your laptop to receive the signal.
This is a great innovation which allows
you to move your laptop from room to room or anywhere in your garden and still maintain
your broadband wireless internet access. Setting up your broadband router and wireless LAN
is something you have to arrange yourself as generally speaking broadband providers do not
provide tech support for setting up these features as this is separate to your broadband
service. So if you are thinking that you might like to have the ability to have broadband
wireless access around your whole home, then you will need to buy a broadband router and a
wireless LAN card which you will be able to buy at most reputable computer shops and then
install them yourself.
Broadband wireless access is also
provided by Wireless Internet Service Providers for people who can't get normal broadband
access in rural areas and has a range of around 30 miles. This type of broadband wireless
access is growing over time to cover more areas.
